Volunteering begins with a application that helps us learn who you are, what roles you’re interested in, and how we can best support you as you serve. Your application ensures we maintain a safe, healthy, and joy-filled environment for every camper and volunteer.
Your application form will include:
Basic Information - Contact details, availability, and the role(s) you’re interested in.
Experience & Interests - Your gifts, strengths, and preferences, this helps us place you in a role where you’ll thrive.
Safety Screening - For camper-facing roles, volunteers complete:
--> A background check (ages 18+) - A reference or character check because protecting young people is our highest priority.
--> Faith & Community Questions - Short, thoughtful prompts that help us understand your heart, your story, and how we can support you spiritually as you serve.
--> Parent/Guardian Permission (for minors) - Teens serving as Junior Counselors or program helpers must have parent/guardian consent.
You can expect:
We welcome volunteers from a variety of backgrounds, ages, and experiences. Some roles require Christian faith alignment, while others are open to volunteers of any belief who respect our mission and community.
Christian Volunteers (Required for Relational Roles): Relational positions such as Main Cabin Counselor, Co-Counselor, Junior Counselor, Lead Male/Female Counselor, and Prayer & Care Team require volunteers to be followers of Jesus who can support campers spiritually, lead devotions, and model Christ-centered leadership. These roles directly shape the spiritual environment of camp and help campers grow in their faith.
Volunteers of Any Background (Support, Facilities & Logistics Roles): Roles such as Kitchen Crew, Operations, Logistics, Facilities, Recreation Support, and some Activity Helper positions are open to volunteers from any walk of life. We simply ask that all volunteers honor and respect that Camp Comanche is a Christian ministry and support our mission to share the love and message of Jesus with our community.
We welcome:
No prior camp experience needed, just a willing heart to serve with kindness, respect, and unity.
